What happened?

Hey, I am not sure if mods or posters are supposed to talk about it but I have been looking around the site and at different topics, and i keep reading about a big fallout of this forum. I haven;t been here for long and I am just confused about what exactly happened. Was the website hacked? I keep hearing about the storm and the loss of members and I was just curious about why so many people left?

Not really sure myself as i am also pretty new & know little about forum etiquette (& IT generally), but it seems to be related to trolls, multiple identities, online arguments and spamming of mailboxes (by spambots?).
More than that i can't say, except that in my time here i have only come across one unpleasant character, the rest seem to be pretty decent people who have a knowledge of MA (certainly) greater than mine & are trying to fix/have fixed the problem & create a nice place to share experiences/information.

Seems a decent if quiet place now.

Someone else would have to fill you in further.

Yes, we had our share of trolls here That's also one of the reasons we changed to this new (and far more superior) software change - Vbulletin (it is more safe).

It's a pity but I'm sure that because we stuck to the true intention of wanting to discuss and advise about MA related subjects - we will end up with building up a true quality site that can be enjoyed by real MA 'addicts'

That is unfortunate; I have used Vbulletin before and it definitely is better for forums. Building up a forum is incredibly difficult; I have tried and failed numerous times...but I hope that my presence here can help and I will continue to try and assist you in growing the forum You seem like a good admin and im sure we can all pitch in and grow it.

Yeah, I was a little weirded out when things shut down for a bit. I've been inordinately busy over the past couple years, but value places where I could talk good MA with fun and equally addicted people. I'm glad things are sorted out an moving forward. Hopefully conversations will enahnce, improve, and increase over time.

Perhaps the trolls and 'problem children' from here have found a new target.

I just tried to log on Bullshido (where i am also a member) and the site comes back with flashing red text reading 'hacked by DZ Z3RO'.

maybe this forum will be getting some additional traffic whilst they remedy the situation.
