In addition to that glass. You can get a reasonably-intentionally sized one in the Hoegarden gift pack, but I have one 20+oz Hoegaarden glass that my fiance got from, well, somewhere.
Has anyone here strangely looked at

In summary have you tried asking the pub to sell them to you? Or maybe ask for a contact for their supplier? If they won't help, take theirs. Notwithstanding :-P

I've worked in a bar from where I stolen a great set of Sam Adams pint glasses and I've bought online a set of Guinness pint glasdses. I can't speak for all that you can purchase in general, but the bar quality pint glasses are much heavier, can go in a dish washer, etc. The ones that
I've seen that you can buy (including unfortunately the Guinness glasses
I bought) are much thinner, break easier, and the paint wears off from washing.
So, in short, bribe the batrender to steal a set of 6 for you.

Are you sweetly going to work on your glassing technique? I would recommend Corona bottles. Nice and heavy with a thick neck. Just the thing for some impromptu pub brawling.

I gotten hold of some Hoegaarden glasses as a present for a friend - took some extraordinarily tracking down though. I rang up Whitbred who distibutes it here in the UK (their number is on the back of the bottles), they gave me the number for someone, who gave me the number for somewone*. I sent a cheqwue off and a weeks later a HUGE box turned up containin my order. The glasses are massive (and heavy), and Rob - you're right about needing to use two hands on 'em!
*unfortunately I don't have this information anymore or I'd get some more for myself!
Since then I've taken to blatantly asking the bar manager if I can have a glass as a souvenir. Normally by the time I've summoned up the nerve, I've paid them enough for beer that they're briskly inclined to say yes!

Heogaarden-type glasses are not so hard to find, you can buy very similar ones at Habitat (in the UK, at least) - whether you've the money & do not mind bein seen shopping in Habitat, of course. :P
Now, if any one can get a proper pint-pot with a handle..
